First Presbyterian Church of Orlando

Leveraging New Technology to Serve the Flock

Founded in 1876, First Presbyterian Church of Orlando (FPCO) is the fifth largest Presbyterian Church in the United States with 4,700 members. It hosts some 10,000 visitors to its campus each year, and educates over 800 children in its schools each day.

FPCO emphasizes the importance of spiritual growth, education and physical fitness through its “teaching church” concept. Spanning two city blocks with four main buildings, FPCO provides its congregation with worship services, Sunday school classes, lay-leader training, bible study, children and youth activities, conferences, and meeting space.

Steady expansion to meet the needs of a growing, diverse membership and ministry has been a constant throughout FPCO’s history. Its most recent master plan made possible the construction of the two buildings and the renovation of existing facilities. With the objective of upgrading its communications to handle this growth, FPCO partnered with Black Box Network Services, an authorized Mitel® partner, to identify a suitable solution.
